How I Work
Every manuscript is unique, so I don't approach editing with a one-size-fits-all checklist. Instead, I take the time to understand what you're trying to accomplish and how each element of your story works together to create the reader's experience.
My background in applied linguistics, counseling, and editing shapes the way I read a manuscript. I pay close attention to story structure, pacing, character development, emotional resonance, and the patterns that influence how readers connect with a story.
I believe every manuscript has strengths worth building on. My goal is to help you recognize those strengths while offering thoughtful, practical guidance that helps you make confident revision decisions, strengthen your story, and preserve your unique voice and vision.
Why I Love This Work
Stories have always fascinated me—not just for the worlds they create, but for the way they connect us, challenge us, and stay with us long after we've turned the final page.
Over time, I became just as curious about how stories work. I love seeing how structure, character, pacing, and emotion come together to create a meaningful reading experience.
One of my favorite parts of editing is partnering with authors during the revision process. I love helping writers recognize what's already working, understand why certain areas may not be landing as intended, and discover new possibilities for strengthening their story.
There's something deeply rewarding about seeing a manuscript grow stronger while the author's unique voice remains unmistakably their own. Watching writers gain confidence in their revision decisions is one of the things I enjoy most about this work.
